      @georgetakei

      He seems somewhat fashion aware, but I'm disturbed by the checkered blazers which are *casual* but I don't think he understand this. A checked blazer, or "sports jacket" isn't for day time business meetings.

      Feels good to get that off my chest. Don't expect anyone to really care.

        @futurebird @georgetakei No, I have the same reactions to some of the sartorial choices I’m seeing. If clothes send a message, maybe we are either speaking a different language from these folks. Or they are sending some strange messages indeed.

            That's another one! Layering patterned fabrics is deeply risky and only for experts.

              @futurebird @ClimateJenny @georgetakei I hear that on bluesky there's a "menswear guy", offering helpful hints and guides to people asking... And such scathing commentaries on those who try to present themselves as being "better".

                @futurebird @ClimateJenny @georgetakei for example, he pointed out that during that recent meeting with all the generals, where there were supposed to be "no personal/personalised touches" to outfits, the suit on stage actually had the customary triangle poking out of chest pocket, violating the rule set *by* the people on stage.
                Also, the triangle was the pocket turned inside out.

                  I guess it's comforting, it gives one a feeling of control to sometimes focus on the least horrible thing a horrible man has done.

                    I care too. Hegseth seems to choose movie gangsters as his style icons. Unfortunately, this is too close to the truth for Trump's inner circles.

                    I sailed away on that little boat to Heaven
                    And by some chance found a bottle in my fist
