As it was said just bellow, it’s due to shipping companies.
As regular citizens, we can « import » up to 800$ without paying tariffs.
However, let’s say company A imports items from the US. They will do so with numbers over 800$, probably in the thousands or millions. This means it’s over the limit of obligatory signaling to the border agents and then they pay tariffs on that amount.
It’s kinda that process.

Bettman says U.S.-Canada tariffs could 'make it more difficult and more painful' on NHL -
Bettman says U.S.-Canada tariffs could 'make it more difficult and more painful' on NHLChirping in, it’s probably because you watch the Leafs. No but for real, I agree. The amount of ads since Covid has increased drastically and it’s so annoying. So many board ads, so many jersey/helmet ads, betting ads are everywhere and it’s just.. urgh. I love the sport, but it’s such an horrible league. I’ve been going more to LHJMQ and it’s more fun (local Québec league). -
Bettman says U.S.-Canada tariffs could 'make it more difficult and more painful' on NHLProbably since it’s less than a certain amount of dollars, like under 1000$ or 500$, then it’s not considered significant enough? I don’t know frankly and I doubt the American administration knows either since they change things every other day. -

NHL officials are wearing Apple Watches on iceI agree 100%. -
NHL officials are wearing Apple Watches on iceIt’s totally a business deal to have a sponsor just like the iPads for the reviews by teams. But it’s still pretty cool and could have some use cases. A little vibration to know it’s back to even strength isn’t much, but could help the ref continue to look at the play and not have to check that little thing. Can’t be too hopeful, but maybe some automation could help better officiating.
