@futurebird My experience with grade school was an extremely long time ago and in Serbia so probably doesn't directly relate here. But here's my view on grades anyway.
It just feels like sometimes the point of grading is to make it hard to score highly (bell curve and all that) rather than to describe knowledge gained.
Sprint planning, I'm in a room with like 15 people, mostly university hires.
Me: So this task is to migrate off of this tool called Gizmo. Which should be easy as long as you don't feed it after midnight.
The room: *Confused stares*
Me: You know, because Gizmo is a Mogwai.
The room: *Confusion intensifies*
Me: Um... Gremlins?
The room: *Crickets*
Me: I guess I am officially too old for office humor.
