        @futurebird you know I was going to send you a link to CV Riley's famous historical drawings of the various insect orders, but then I looked at them, and thought, well, there aren't any ants depicted.

          I'd probably still like them a lot. I just grumble when ants are left out... which happens more than you'd think for such a common well known insect!

                  well, he was no Maria Sibylla Merian, but he was good, and an important historical figure in entomology.
