I was going to mend this huge hole in a lace shawl I knitted ages ago. Thought I put it into a moth proof container, but no. Started to pick off the bits moths leave behind and found a vast number of weakened or severed threads all over this thing!
Then I thought: d'you know what, life's too short, not doing that. I'll chuck it.
Because I realised that I didn't wear it for a reason: the bright colour doesn't go with most my things - why spend ages fixing something I won't use? -

I'm pretty sure it's a Niebling design. Next time I make this I'll do a couple of repeats less. I think eight was too many - if I had blocked this it might have expanded to a full circle. Or maybe even overlapped!
For me, lace shawls often get too big, which is quite weird. There's one that I wear more like a cape than a shawl. Well, a small cape.
What a silly problem to have.
Might try making one with gossamer yarn and really thin needles. -

I started watching those by several Italian lace makers, they do such lovely work and the visuals are clear enough so you can see what they're doing. I think I'm picking up on some of the vocabulary in use that's where the list from the above post comes from. I hope I got it right. Can anyone confirm or correct the list?
I particularly enjoy videos from The LaceMaker Diary:
