    I asked myself today whether if the U.S. disintegrates another country would honor my U.S. passport when I try to escape what's left of it.

    A few months ago that would have been a thought experiment.

      Yes and no. It really depends on the country and what you bring to the table... A US medical degree? A better than even odds for most counties. A collection of Chump memorabilia to North Korea? Probably yes, as long as their dear leader can use you for propaganda.

      Seriously though if you can pay your own way, you shouldn't have too many problems. But therein lies the problem because when the US collapses, so does the US dollar and China is already working to replace it

        Honest question, how would you know when the US actually collapses? The institutions seem beyond repair and feels like a matter of time.

        As your southern neighbor, the shock waves will hit very hard here.
