My first reaction on Friday was sensory overload unlike any of its predecessors, but there's always an acclimation period for new releases in the series.
The unit movement animations are waaaayyyy too slow and the settlement limit is enraging, but the diplo is considerably more sophisticated and the game itself is beautiful looking.
Historians should be allowed to play during work hours, IMO. Happy city razing!
