I assumed they were generally against the concept of sex not strictly for the purpose of reproduction.

I wouldn't be surprised. Even though it's one of EA's main cash cows pretty much every Sims game and expansion is held together with the programming equivalent of ducktape and bailing wire.

Men could get pregnant in Sims 4 for awhile, I think. I guess the bug is it that neighborhood stories aren't working and checking if someone is in a relationship and has the 'can be pregnant' tag.

Yup! But I think men had to be abducted by aliens and he'd show up preggo with an alien baby some days later. I don't think it was possible to impregnate women sims this way, but I may be misremembering.

FYI, the Sims 4 version is Wicked Whims. But I find mods in generally have become difficult to maintain since EA starting putting out a new patch seemingly every week.

Okay, this is something I'm going to have to test. This article left me with more questions than answers, especially when the writer claimed that pregnant sims can't woohoo or take a pregnancy test. I can't tell if they mean *since this patch* pregnant sims can't do those things, or if they haven't played the game enough to know. The fact there's a question mark in parentheses doesn't help. Also, the screenshot showing a child not be able to do something because they're "pregnant" doesn't necessarily mean the sim is pregnant - it could well be a bug related to how the menu is displayed, which sounds possible since it seems to be occuring across the board. The article is about sims being *pregnant*, but not about them *having babies,* and I find that an odd distinction. But I have this game, and the patch is already downloaded. Let's see if I'm a lucky winner and this bug shows up. To game for science!

I probably didn't notice because I never bought Sims 4. I couldn't bring myself to give up the pseudo open world of Sims 3.

They added a toggle at some point when creating a sim so you could be a male who could get pregnant, if you wanted a sim to be a trans man, for example. At least I think that's vanilla. I have so many mods its hard to remember anymore.
