There are some news clips of an Iranian American man whose wife, who came here at age 3 is currently “detained” (kidnapped) because of the racist bigoted targeting of Iranians — Fox is running clips of the guy who says he “still supports Trump” to comfort their viewers who may still have some residual bits of empathy they haven’t fully excoriated from their souls. On more liberal news outfits everyone is deeply confused by this man.
But I’m not confused by him at all.

He would be very annoyed to hear me describe him as a victim of anti-Arab racism. Because racism is something that happens to The Blacks, and “Mexicans”, not a fine trump supporter such as himself— and he’s delighted to be on the news saying he still supports Trump and is certain his wife being in a jail cell is just an honest mistake because he thinks Trump will see him and recognize he’s not one of ‘those people’— he thinks his loyalty will be rewarded.

If you have ever thought someone might “mistake” for “one of those people” or not “one of the good ones” the sooner you learn you ARE “one of those” (in the eyes of the right) the better.

Amen. It's also a lesson white people should learn ASAP. The bucket never stops, that's not how fascism works. (Or any other ideology that's obsessed with "purity".)

Me either. His wife lost her visa because of a shoplifting charge.
He knows she has to go.
I don’t think it makes any damn sense. It’s disruptive and pointless and makes this country worse to deport over petty nonsense. And the erosion of ‘due process’ is a direct threat to ALL of us (foreign born or not.) It’s boneheaded and disgusting.
