@futurebird Hi! It is, in fact, not about the social media ban.

The protests is about Corruption, and Nepotism. Gen Z of Nepal have been calling out and pushing back against it for a while now. But then suddenly, all mediums of doing so were banned in one fell sweep, leading the people to protest physically.

Attached: 1 image VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE: Protests and demonstrations began today, led by #GenZ, including students like me, against #Corruption, #Nepotism, and the ban of social media which they've used until now to share their voices. During this, it has been reported that water spray, gear gas and rubber bullets were deployed, injuring and killing protestors (identity uknown), who got shot and was being treated. Reports of deaths have gone up to 17 according to some outlets, with alleged lethal bullets used.
