...Wait, so running D&D and setting the players against Belon Husk isn't what you're meant to do? Or do you think it's fine, so long as he's a sorcerer or something?

Iirc mage BBEGs were of a technocracy trying to impose order on reality which was not good for those with the ability to manipulate it. The technos were also in cahoots with the wyrm I think, from werewolf.

What little I know of MtA lore is nuts. Canonically, the Technomancers (who are basically the Illuminati) faked the moon landing to convince the world that the moon (actually Arcadia, realm of the Fae) is nothing but a dead rock in space. By doing so they leveraged the power of mass unconscious belief to distort reality to actually make Arcadia nothing but a dead rock in space.

Technocracy are ones of the main antagonists, but they're not entierly evil, they also forced reality to make vaccines to work, among other things. Nephandi on the other hand are worst of the worst, only Pentex and Black Spiral Dancers even tolerate them. As for Wyrm, Mages don't beleive in it, for them Wyrm worshippers are jsut a branch of the Nephandi. But Technocracy has ties to Pentex - their own corproate branch, the Syndicate, in particular, had a hand in setting Pentex up, ignored its obvious corruption for nearly a century, had to purge an entire division for beign to chummy with Pentex and still subverted Pentex's toy-making subsidiary to, instead of making toys that encoruage kids to cruelty, make boring toys that kill kids imagination.

Musk is trying to check all the boxes: * Iteration X: Tesla, Solar City, Boring Co. * New World Order: xAI, OpenAI, Zip2 * Progenitors: Neuralink * Syndicate: PayPal, X (Twitter) * Void Engineers: Space X It's like a Syndicate stooge staged a hostile take of the other conventions of the Technocratic Union, and it's going about as well as expected. *Cybernetics is a bit of a cheat as it's in the overlap between Progenitors and Iteration X. If anything he's trying to sideline Progenitors out as he boosts anti-vax statements.*

Yeah, and my D&D campaigns involve a police state run by nepo-babies, equipped with stolen technology and a fascist militia. So surely the D&D one should ALSO be Elon, right?

That last bit makes me think he may actually be a Nephandi, they do have their own techbro faction.

The Technocratic Union are the primary antagonists to the 9 Traditions. No so much purely evil for the sake of evil but a well funded highly authoritarian secret society ideologically opposed to the Traditions. The Technocracy brought us modern plumbing, vaccination and modern medicine, toilet paper, and nuclear weapons, advanced bioweapons, capitalism, and the prison industrial complex. The Nephandi are the evil for evil sake mages. They are seeking to spread as much pain and misery and bring in the descent of humanity into destruction. And then there's the marauders, mages who's magickal hubris gets the better of them and they succumb to a reality warping madness.
