Most ant fonts are texture-based since written ant languages generally use "ant brail" -- the textures are based on the various abrasion and punching methods the ants once used to hold pheromones in the early development of written language. But, no modern ant languages ever depend on pheromones alone. Pheromones convey general tone.

There are many ways to stylize the textures and long arguments about the best ant brail fonts.
