I wrote a letter for my congressmen Ritchie Torres.

I wrote a letter for my congressmen Ritchie Torres. I will deliver it in person later and I have some things to say to him that I don't want to put in writing. Frankly, I think we may need to find a new rep. but it seems responsible to do this. Feel free to use bits of this if it is helpful. I'm still pushing the "money out of politics" thing because I don't see how they can say no to it.
It's the floor. The minimum.

@futurebird You don't need me to point it out but this is such a good letter.
Is it ok with you if I share it offline with one of my clients?

@futurebird This is an outstanding letter. I like the idea of a mid-2020s Contract with America.
Thanks for sharing.

@futurebird Do you mind if I share this idea on my political blog, with attribution and a link?

I didn't know about this story when I wrote this letter. My jaw is on the FLOOR.
My letter: "Ban stock trading by members of Congress. It’s widely known that elected officials have access to information that could influence markets, and when they profit from trading stocks, it looks corrupt. Even when both parties do it, it undermines faith in government."
Torres Invested in Weapons Makers as He Backed Billions in Arms for Israel
The congressman's office tells Sludge the defense contractor stocks were bought by an independent manager and that he will no longer be buying individual corporate stocks.

Did he read the letter and decide to do all the stuff I said I didn't like?

I delivered the letter in person at his office which was closed and mailed it to him signed.
I guess it's time to get serious about finding a new democrat for the primary. He's too far gone.
