Zohran is just wandering around Harlem with a bunch of people talking to everyone. He really does that I guess. I wonder if he went up to ann st in the bronx too? (I’m having problems with alt text. the photo shows NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on 145th and ACP with a bunch of people around him. )

election is a month away. this is the home stretch.
While checking the guy out I overheard a WILD conversation between an MTA bus driver and a cop. You will never in a million years guess how it went down. When I get home I’ll try to write it up. People have the most curious notions about politics. I’m stunned.

I went down to Harlem to see what this "Zohran" was like. I'm always happy when politicians come to central Harlem or the south Bronx because everyone ignores us.
I also wanted to see what the locals would make of him and he was talking to everyone.
On the side some guys were having a big political debate. The main guys debating were a cop (a younger guy) and a bus diver (older)
I decided to listen in.

I missed the first part of their conversation but when I got there they were agreeing that a NYC mayor needs to "know how it works or you won't get anything done" ... I do not know what "it" is in this instance.
The bus driver seemed concerned that Mamdani lacked the needed political connections to "get anything done"
Bus Driver: "You can't just come in and change things not in this city."
The cop agreed with this but said he was sick of people who were insiders.
Cop: "Adams is a crook."

Here I am cheering for the cop in a Harlem sidewalk debate. How did I get here!?
In theory these are two union guys so it shouldn't be that complicated. I think age is a much bigger factor in how people are looking at this race.

The younger cop seemed to want to give him a chance the older bus driver? not 100 percent convinced.
