I'm a teacher and I was feeling grumpy about going back to work.

I'm a teacher and I was feeling grumpy about going back to work. I told my husband as he was leaving this morning how unfair it was and he didn't feel sorry for me at all. LOL.
I decided to look at my rosters (which have photos of the students, every school should do this) since they just came in to see what students I have and now I'm feeling much more excited. I guess I did miss them.
I have some students I had a few years back and it's going to be a fun year.

The classic joke:
"I don't WANNA go to school"
"... uh ... you are the teacher?"

A couple of years ago, at my kids’ elementary school, they had to let the teachers horse trade students. Teacher/class assignments were not finalized until like the second week.
Apparently the year before that, one teacher ended up with almost all of the well-known problem students and she basically threatened to quit if it happened again.
(The so-called problem students deserve an education as much as anyone but I can understand the need to balance things…)

I don't think we have any "problem students" but there are students who I'd rather not deal with together because they are either too good friends and annoying or they don't like each other and they are annoying or... if you can imagine it... BOTH.
