It's incredibly effective reporting.

Because I grew up with "embedded reporters" talking from major news networks to sell us a very different war I'm always curious about how these things are set up. How is it funded? Who puts it all together?
In this case I don't really care if it's "pro-Ukrainian" but I still want to know how it works.
This isn't an embedded network reporter, it's embedded social media. We will see more of this in the future.

I remember my HS history teacher giving lessons on the different kind of war correspondents. I'm kind of glad I'm not a history teacher today ya'll have your work cut out for you.

@futurebird
Seems like it's a good idea to do this with the "blessing" of the government.I was watching Bald and Bankrupt do something similar. But, he didn't talk to soldiers or tell anyone what he was doing—he just traveled towards the front and talked to folks he walked into.
Being a foreigner who spoke Russian walking around on his own, he was soon arrested and accused of being a spy. They did release him and tell him to leave after learning he was a YouTuber.

Sounds wildly dangerous. And to be clear I'm glad Luke is doing this. I just always think we need to be clear eyed about how these things work and why they are happening. This is content to help Americans and English-speaking westerners to better understand and relate to what the Ukrainians are experience and it helps make the war seem more real while reflecting poorly on Russia.
We must understand that since there is other content that isn't about helping those facing an invasion.

@futurebird Turning Point: Viet Nam is an excellent example of what embedded reporting can do when the reporters are reporting truth.
It gave us a generation of heroes like Ed Bradley, Moreley Safer, and of course Dan Rather.

That was before my time naturally. I've grown up with a deep suspicion of this kind of reporting. But I have read about how that worked to sway the public about that war. This stuff matters.
