I have now added a brand new talk to my list - 'Astronomical and Atmospheric Events Depicted in the ‘Augsburg Wunderzeichenbuch’ (The Book of Miracles)' a 16th Century illuminated manuscript with hand-painted folios. Many of the 'miracles' depicted are ordinary astronomy or atmospheric events. OMG. This book has had a HUGE impact on the SF book I've been working on.
