They could lose as many as 15 games (16-15) and still make the playoffs. I think the Dodgers go 15-16 in that same stretch and finish 1 game behind in the NL West and get the 2nd Wild Card.

Things got dicey (as usual), but Mookie came through with a huge clutch homer, and Vesia, despite not having the best command, hung in there for a 5-out save.@beisbolcards @tonyslatte Bummed the #padres decided this weekend was when they would revert to their poor play against the #dodgers...So long as they take the next three this coming weekend, I'm good. I am always pleased seeing the #chargers lose (my curse still holds), and #SDFC won again and stay atop the western conference with 7 matches remaining... so an almost acceptable sports weekend for me...

As I said on August 1st, 2025...As I said on August 1st, 2025... the next 10 games will decide the NL West Division. I wasn't joking... with a 1 game lead over the #dodgers as of today, the #padres can't afford to lose even one game this weekend if they hope to win the west.

There are 13 games in August that will decide the NL West. From August 11th through the 24th they will play four back to back series against the #SFGiants and #LADodgers. One way or another, the #NLWest champion will be crowned on the 24th of August.
