  • A HUMAN MIND IS A COMPLEXITY.

@futurebird I feel like in my attempt to reach the Human Removal Planning Department, I have been trapped in a phone tree that was developed by the Human Disorientation and Immobilization Department.

Now I wonder if ants find such phone trees satisfying (everything is fine) or frustrating (impediment to work) or amusing (just register the pheromones, silly, don’t spend time on documentation).

  • I'm kind of struggling to write about this (fictional) ant colony.

@futurebird The Human Removal one makes me think their planning department made an error in target analysis. They had previously observed that it only took ~20 ants to effectuate the removal of a human from a bed pillow, or a plate of pie. But to relocate an unconscious human requires ~20,000 ants. They should have hired me.

  • I have an idea for a program to promote businesses that are good for the environment because they help people repair things.

@futurebird People stopped learning how to fix cars themselves when electronic components became the main failure point. Something goes wrong in a car, it’s no longer just a hose or a belt, it’s a motherboard or an intricate and specialized subsystem unit. With each model year they change the specs slightly so parts are not interchangeable one year to the next.

@futurebird The global corporate insistence on faster turnover and higher profit margins has led to nearly all products being made irreparable. That’s a big part of why repair trades have virtually died out. Why put new soles on shoes where the foam and fabric uppers are also worn through? And with TVs and other electronics they have made it so it costs more to buy the parts than to buy a whole new unit.

  • Cowboy boots with an "ant and aphids" motif seem like an obvious and popular idea for a style.

@futurebird As I consider it though, the way a stylized longhorn steer skull is a classic motif, you could easily stylize an aphid head, and it would look badass:

@futurebird Fair, so what is the ant equivalent of snakes and flowers? I.e. “regional exotic threat creature” and “beautiful good-smelling environment”?

@futurebird Human cowboy boots don’t typically depict people and cows or sheep, so the model is off. But what is the ant equivalent of an ostrich or python? Perhaps they make cowboy boots out of dwarf centipede hide?

@futurebird @uguisubari There should be a way to give an ant pheromonal directions to their new home and just put them outside.
