Here’s where the Lord of the Rings Online server transfer situation stands as queues surpass 48 hoursNot all mmo's are pressing boxes for combat skills. There are a bunch that are more action oriented like Fallout 76. -
Here’s where the Lord of the Rings Online server transfer situation stands as queues surpass 48 hoursGood Lore doesn't necessarily make for good games -

How Konami Brought a Beloved Video-Game Franchise Back From the DeadThe last sentence mentions the hopes to create a new game. -
Avowed was pretty terrible too. There's a great youtube video Laura Fryer made that talks about Avowed's success. I belueve it is in the games community on .world or sh.itjust.works. -
The irony is that Beth pretty much set the standard for ambitious, weird and unexpected with Morrowind, and have been backing away ever since.Im convinced someone at the top levels of the company us super far up their ass about the things Bethesda are doing while forgetting to ask if the thing they want players to do is fun. Too many Bethsoft games are running into the "this stretch isn't fun" problem. -
What's your favorite FPS weapon?Unreal had a gun that shot saw blades that bounced off of surfaces. That was fun -
Ultima. And that's why I had a problem with this from the start as Ultima 1 really wasn't that ground breaking compared to others but by 4 you have an unspoken karmic system that tracks level advancement that blew my mind as a kid once I realized that was a thing. Ultima absolutely pushed significant boundaries but I have a hard time saying it was more influential than tetris. -
What did you put in?Git Gud started with Donkey Kong. Younger gamers have no idea how hard some of the coin driven games were -
What did you put in?The question is influential though not iconic. Metroidvanias are popular. Contra doesn't have a genre named for it -
Ultima. What do you think specifically because I can't think of anything they did first with Ultima I? -
Like I said in the other thread, I vote pokemon.Pokemon is The Bard's Tale meets Tamagotchi. Pacman's audience was colossal as was Tetris -
Minecraft might be a good contender in terms of spawning the survival genre and also having so many mods used to pioneer entirely new game modes and even having a major part in machinima and Let's Plays and such things on Youtube.Machinima pre-exists Minecraft by a significant stretch though? Red vs Blue was ongoing when Notch thought of Minecraft. -
Many other games have "defined" their genres, but few have done so quite as completely as Doom (1993).Castle Wolfenstein came out the year before how is that not the first? -
Ultima.Yes I have but I’d be interested to hear what they innovated as Im not sure what exactly Ultima I created for the first time. -
You'll need to pay to edit your Monster Hunter Wilds character beyond the first free redoYes but if I were to play I’d hold on to that free redo forever since it was the only one. -
Ultima. While I would love to agree there’s no way that was the most influential game and I played 1-7 -
You'll need to pay to edit your Monster Hunter Wilds character beyond the first free redoSo Im stuck with what I chose at the beta test as I wouldn’t want to blow my chance at a free change later? -
WB axes Shadow of Mordor maker in setback for clever, sadly patented game systemAnd the point is Europe is adopting the same anti-immigrant attitudes while being on average much worse of a place to integrate within.
