Thank you for your candor. The little bits I've seen of it are almost putting an emphasis on the platformer part of the game. Very vertical, jump from one small platform to another small platform.... So what you've said tracks. I'm used to platformers being like... Super Mario world.

@troy_frizzell @TheGreatLlama Many jobs that are called "low skilled" aren't and you find it out if you've ever heard a rich person whine and complain and literally cry about how their new housekeeper isn't as good as the old one. Housekeeping is an absurdly complex job.

@futurebird @noplasticshower I feel very lucky that I have a friend who's into sustainable fashion, who made me think about the question, "What had to happen to get you that product at that price, or more to the point, whom did it have to happen to?" BEFORE the rise of Temu, so that I was preinoculated to see their whole approach as exploitive and offputting.

I looked it up, and Master of Ceremonies is definitely used in normal contexts to refer to a host, but I distinctly remember seeing it as slang for a penis.

If you're GenX you probably remember Alan Dershowitz as a prominent defender of the idea "every defendant deserves a vigorous defense." He defended Claus von Bülow! O.J. Simpson!I 100% believed in that idea for the longest time, thanks in no small part to him.Now I look at the trail of wreckage behind him and I'm like, "If this is what a vigorous defense looks like, then nah."It was never about a "vigorous defense." It was Dershowitz's narcissism.

I'm a bit confused, wasn't this announcement ages ago? Is it coming out soon?

 

Simply insisting employees call each other "family" or having team building exercises won't do it either. These superficial changes can produce vapors of the benefits, in the long run everyone gets annoyed and makes fun of them relentlessly because they are just cynical surface level changes. The real changes are:1. Employees have input and a stake in how the business is run.2. Better compensation and benefits3. Better working conditions. It's not rocket science.

@theantlady Yeah. I don't really get the attraction for those. It's a bit hard to get worked up when it's fire ants... but they just make me sad.

I’m the only person I know likes this game. Sad to hear they’re doing their developers in this manner but hardly surprising.
