And you know, normally with these kinds of cuts they will phase it in slowly, they will go to some extremes to make it hard to point to any clear and massive sudden change and say "this is the cut that you did to this grandma and now she is dead, you monster" even though... that's how it can work out.But, there is a case for just letting them do this. It's such an ugly mess.But of course that would hurt so many people. How could you?

Granted, there would be "serious disruption" if it really worked as described. But, it just can't do this stuff. And it's been years. Just scanning a lot of examples isn't enough for these tasks. I feel like I need to give these examples because when I say "it can't do it" I feel like people think I'm just being negative. If there were a magic data genie TRUST I have wishes.

@apLundell Yup. I mostly use LLMs to ... well see how far I can push them so maybe I'm digging around in the edge cases anymore. One thing I have noticed is for all the talk of "guard rails" there are none. None that really matter.

@roknrol I thought part of the "wonderful future" was going to be never thinking about this stuff again. That was very naive of me. US phones never have dual sim slots so that's not an option and I don't want to talk my mother through doing anything with a sim card ... Maybe I will just call in and try to find a way to pre-pay so she had no choice.

@DrorBedrack I think this helps one understand why people get invested in these debates. It's a bit dark but I don't think it's totally wrong-headed.And maybe it can lend some greater perspective? Or maybe it will just make people irrationally angry about two things rather than just one.
